Summer Update 25 January 2017
Over the summer I hope you all got a bit of rest and relaxation before getting back to work!
New Zealand summers are always amazing (even when the weather can turn off for a few days!)
During the break I caught up with friends and family from all around the world as well as meeting with visiting Delegations from the Korean Parliament and the Unification Advisory Council of Korea.
It was great to talk with them about the ongoing relationship between our two countries and the continuing development of the Korea-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement that is now entering its second year in force. Over two-thirds of trade goods with Korea are now Duty Free meaning more work for New Zealand Businesses and more jobs in our communities and increases in our export market of over 16%.
It was also great to take some time off to go watch the Tennis with a few Friends at the ASB Classic as well as play a few rounds of Golf with a few of our local legends!
The Takapuna Golf Club held its Pro Am only a few days ago with a number of Golf Pros flying in from around the world to tee-off here in Auckland.
It was great to play alongside Kieran Muir from Tauranga, who has been a player in the Australasian PGA tour and other local competitions; no doubt I will be keeping track of his success in the near future. I also had the privilege of being one of the keynote speakers at the Prizegiving.
We have such an amazing level of talent in the New Zealand Golfing Community and I always look forward to the opportunity to see their achievements.
In our Auckland Community we also celebrated the 93rd Birthday of one of our great community stalwarts Alice Wylie who continues to be a great advocate for central Auckland issues in the Albert-Eden area.
My Out of Parliament Office is now open again for the New Year. If you need assistance please contact my office on 09 815 0278 or at MPLee@Parliament.govt.nz for an appointment.
