In Parliament 25 August 2016
This sitting week I participated in Question Time as well as spoke on the Third Reading of the Shop Trading Hours Amendment Bill.
I asked the Minister of Customs Hon Nicky Wagner "What updates has she received regarding the interception of child sexual abuse material at the border?"
On the Shop Trading Hours Amendment Bill I voted to support giving choices back to local communities and support them deciding how they want to spend time in their towns and regions on Easter Sunday.
It is wonderful that we are giving power back to local New Zealanders to decide how they want to trade on Easter Sunday and support our growing diverse communities all around New Zealand.
I said in my speech to the House, "People can have time with their families, if they so choose. On Easter Sunday, like any other Sunday, people can spend time with their families, if they so choose. This is about choices. This is about giving back the power to local communities"
