More students achieving in Mt Albert

List MP Melissa Lee says that more of our kids in Mt Albert gaining NCEA Level 2 is something parents will be very happy to hear.

87.4% of 18 year olds in Mt Albert now have NCEA Level 2 or an equivalent qualification surpassing the Government’s goal of 85% by 2017.

"This means good things for the futures of local kids.  Our teachers and students are working hard and the results are showing,” Melissa Lee said.

“This Government is committed to ensuring all young New Zealanders can achieve educational success.

“The Public Achievement Information tells us that in 2015, 83.3 per cent of 18-year-olds achieved NCEA Level 2 across New Zealand – that’s about 38,000 more kids than in 2008 achieving a qualification which will help prepare them for further study or work.

“This information is helping teachers provide the right support to the right students, and keeping parents and communities informed.  We all have a part to play,” Melissa Lee said.
