Prime Minister visits Mt Albert May 2016

Friday, June 3, 2016

This week I had the honour of hosting the Prime Minister Rt Hon John Key in Mt Albert.

We visited a number of amazing places including Mount Albert Grammar School where the Prime Minister spoke to an assembly of over 1000 Year 10 & 13 students about leadership.

It was great to hear the Prime Minister chat and answer questions from students who asked him a range of questions from environmental issues to how he copes with stress.

We also attended an afternoon tea held at Ferndale House with a number of Community leaders from the Mt Albert area joining us for an excellent meeting.

Special thanks to Alice Wylie, Former Mt Albert Deputy Mayor and Eileen Rolf, another stalwart of the community, for being able to come along.

Later in the Afternoon we also stopped by Grey Lynn Businesses Barkley Manor and the Burger Fuel Corporate Headquarters where we met with the business owners and their staff.

It was great to meet with innovative businesses in the Grey Lynn Community.

Thank you to Krista at Barkley Manor and Josef at Burger Fuel HQ for their time and sharing their stories and aspirations.

It was a great day and I hope to meet up with you all again soon.
